If I have black hair and use olive oil as a natural lightener, will it turn gray?

I want to get natural highlights from the olive oil, but the notion occured to me that olive oil is a hair lightener, and so that might make it gray and not brown. And thus, I am here asking this question on Yahoo.

I had occasion to research olive oil as used in hair care and though it is a natural hair lightener as used for highlighting purposes it will not drastically bleach the hair – it will lighten to a brown not to a gray. Other tested and tried safe lighteners are :
1) Use of a harsh shampoo like:
Johnson & Johnson’s Baby shampoo (surprisingly it’s very harsh)
or Pert Plus
2) Dawn Dishwashing liquid.

Either of these can help lighten without risk to your hair.
You will know that they are working as you will see some color in the water you are rinsing out. There were some recent similar questions on ANSWERS and users of the above verified the above worked successfully.
