Why didn’t BP have some kind of emergency shut off valve put in place on the oil pipeline that busted at the bottom of the ocean? It seems like such a no brainer to have a safety inertia switch like all the later model cars have on the fuel lines now. It seems to me like there was a lot of negligence there. And CEO of BP is like the tool of all tools the way he just sits there so smug with no remorse for what happened.

A friend of mine struck up a conversation with an ex-engineer from BP, he said that there are still other emergency shut off valves in place but they’re not using them. This information will never be released to the public voluntarily. If BP stops the leak, according to their contract, the company will not make ANY money and the contract where they’re drilling will be null and void. As long as the oil is leaking / spilling / gushing…WHATEVER, BP still makes money. Also, according to this source, there are a few other oil rigs in the area that are operating off of the same well. If they close it up, those rigs will have to stop production also. AND…who was a huge Obama supporter during his election…BP!!!

How much of this is true, who knows. It would make sense though if it where. Oil giants care about the environment because they have to, to make the public feel all warm and fuzzy about what they’re doing but let’s not forget the top execs are filthy rich and their main motivation is $$$.

Too bad our beautiful environment is going down the crapper over politics!!! Shouldn’t be a surprise. This whole thing makes me sick…irregardless what the truth is.
